Target Customers

 

Saia Freight’s target customer pool is mid to large size companies. These companies come from a wide range of industries, such as but not limited to health products, automobile parts, retail goods, manufacturing and constructions goods.  

Target customers will be categorized by positions within their respective companies. The categories will be Operations VPs, Transportation Managers, Sales Coordinators, and Dock Workers. Please see the table below for the estimated category break down. 

 



Customers will be notified via email campaign, as well as printed notifications about the promotion on invoices and bill-of-ladings. This notification methodology will allow for maximum coverage of both the dock workers as well as office staff. Also, by launching a digital campaign within some of the largest logistics and supply chain publications Saia Freight could potentially attract new customers. Publications to look into include, DC Velocity, Inbound Logistics, Transport Topics, and SDC Executive. 

 

Saia Freight has an in-house marketing department, creating and launching an email campaign to current customers won’t require any additional costs. With the assistance of the IT department, the template for generating the automatic invoices and bill-of-ladings can be updated to include information on the promotion. Any additional costs will be going towards posting ads on digital publication sites. This relatively inexpensive promotion could have a potentially large pay-off, it will encourage current customers to continue using Saia Freight services and possibly lure in new companies.
