Selected Sampling

The probability of a woman being selected is 37.7% while the probability of a man being selected is 62.3%. The cause for this discrepancy is the logistics and supply chain sector has traditionally been associated with physical work and consequently considered a more masculine career field. More labor intensive jobs such as dock workers and machine operators are male-dominated, while administrative positions, such as sales coordinators, as seen in the table above are more female dominated.

Probability of a woman being selected: P(W) = 377/1000 = 0.377   37.7%

Probability of a man being selected: P(M) = 623/1000 = .623   62.3%
