While Saia's free cash flow has shown instability, their revenue has enjoyed growth over the years. With a reported revenue of $1.82 billion USD in 2020, a 1.99% increase over 2019 revenue. Financial analysts are currently forecasting Saia's revenue for 2021 to come in at $2.18 billion USD, increasing by 19.8% over 2020. 

It is recommended that Saia not expand into new markets or internationally during 2021, and wait until the final 2021 financial reports are released to re-asses this type of expansion. However, conservatively growing the company truck driver fleet at this time is highly recommended.

  The average turn over rate in 2020 for truck drivers in less-than-truckload companies was 13% (CCJ, 2021). As Saia has continued to grow over the last 5 years, so has their labor force, with 10600 employees in 2021 (TTNews, 2021). With the US supply chain under immense strain, increasing Saia's truck driver will be critical in maintaining their market share during these demanding times. However, as shown above Saia's average annual salary for truck drivers is only $79,831 (Indeed, 2021). To attract more drivers during this labor shortage as well as maintain their current fleet Saia should look at increasing truck driver salaries to better compete with other logistics companies such as Estes, Fedex, and UPS.
